American Citadels (2018)
In the early 1970's, concrete block walls began appearing around the properties and subdivisions of the desert community of Spring Valley, Nevada. The reasons given were for privacy, keeping out noise and sand, and a new architectural style. The phenomenon spread and is now a pervasive feature of the suburban landscape of Nevada and Southern California. AMERICAN CITADELS is a collection of large format photographs taken in several of these communities.
For exhibition in 2018.
